A Plymouth Staple Celebrates 50 Years of Bringing Neighbors Together
(September 10, 2009)
Plymouth, MI – September, 2009 – For five decades, newcomers to the Plymouth area and long-time residents alike have offered a helping hand, made lasting friendships and discovered new interests, thanks to a community group that continues to thrive today despite the uncertain economy.
“Times are tough right now, but Plymouth Newcomers & Neighbors members demonstrate that we can lean on our neighbors in tough times and don’t have to spend a lot to be good neighbors,” said Tiffany Baker, Plymouth Township resident and PNN president. “Throughout our fifty year history, PNN has offered family events, networking opportunities and other ways for families to stay active in the community without breaking the bank.”
Today, the group boasts a strong membership of more than 130 local families. Despite the region’s economic difficulties, the PNN board of directors hopes to grow membership and find new ways to serve the local community.
